Maharashtra Industry, Trade & Investment Facilitation Cell (MAITRI), the Government to Business (G2B) service, is one-stop-shop for existing and prospective investors to get consolidated information about the investment and registration process with regards to expanding their existing manufacturing units or to set up a new manufacturing unit in the State. This portal has many different tabs which are used for registration, consent application, etc. In this article we will explore how this portal is used by the businesses related to plastic.

To access the portal, we need to have an account on the website. For this Visit Site: maitri.mahaonline.gov.in. Then by clicking on “Login” on the top-right section of the website leads to the log in page. On the bottom of the Log in Page, there is an option of ‘New Registration’. On clicking on New Registration, user gets navigated to the User Registration Form where he can register his firm by providing basic details and a valid and active email address and a mobile number. After filling in the required details and pressing the submit button, user gets a successful registration email. On registration, applicant shall receive an E-Mail as well as an SMS confirming the User Unique ID (Username) which can be used for future correspondence and log ins.

For this registration you need following documents:

  • Aadhar ID (UID)
  • PAN (UID)
  • depending on the type of Constitution: Company PAN and Company TIN

After the registration gets successful your business needs to be registered on the site. This is done by clicking on CAF and Services. In the Common Application Form (CAF) the business gets registered with a nominal fee. After the registration only a business can apply for different approvals, registrations, clearances and incentives from the portfolio of services given through MAITRI.

To access the services, click on Services provided. Currently, there are around 20 services available on single window system with more services getting added soon. But for the scope of this article we will be looking for the Plastic related services only. These services are available on the tab Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. Under this head of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board:

There are different applications for which we can apply. Which include

  1. Consent to establish
  2. Consent to operate
  3. Renewal of the consent
  4. Registration under Plastic Rules

When we click on any of the tab the corresponding page/form appears where we can fill in the information and do the needful.

No documents required for the consent application but the form needs to filled entirely with all the information correct. The information for the types of applications should be same and correct otherwise a query is raised from the MPCB office.

For the Registration under Plastic Rules following documents are required:

  1. Flowchart of Manufacturing process
  2. Consent to operate/establish
  3. List of Brand owners or personals to whom you sell your products
  4. List of Brand owners or personals to whom you sell your products
  5. EPR action plan (Letter given by UDD plus ANNEXURE 1- Combined PDF)
  6. The detailed action plan is to be uploaded on the other tab as follows:
  7. Visit the Industry Document tab.
  8. Then select the document category as OTHERS
  9. Document name as ENDORSED EPR ACTION PLAN
  10. Choose the EPR action plan file and then UPLOAD

To check your previous done applications, go on the dashboard tab. All the applications are listed there. One can download the application there or pay the fees if remaining or check the status of the application. If the status is verified the certificate can be downloaded here itself.

If any new document needs to be uploaded for a previous filled form, then go to the Industry Document tab and fill the necessary information and upload the document.
